China arrival card online: the free official way

The short answer

China’s National Immigration Administration (NIA) provides a free official online arrival-card service for foreign visitors who need to complete the card. The official web form is https://s.nia.gov.cn/ArrivalCardFillingPC/.

Other official channels include the NIA website, the “移民局12367” service, and the NIA WeChat and Alipay mini programs. You can submit before travel through an official channel. If you cannot do it in advance, NIA says smart devices and paper arrival cards remain available at ports. Follow immigration staff instructions for your particular entry.

NIA has warned about look-alike paid websites. Do not pay a separate fee to complete the official arrival card or share passport details with a site simply because it appears first in search results.

What to do

  1. Open https://s.nia.gov.cn/ArrivalCardFillingPC/ directly, or follow the arrival-card link from the NIA website, ‘移民局12367’, or the NIA WeChat or Alipay mini program. Check the address before entering passport or itinerary information.
  2. Read the form’s current applicability and required fields. Complete the information exactly as it appears on your passport and travel documents.
  3. Review the submission before sending it and keep the confirmation accessible for arrival. Save the official page address offline, not just a screenshot from a search result.
  4. If you cannot submit in advance, ask immigration staff at the port about its smart-device or paper-card option. Do not assume a paid middleman is necessary.
  5. If your flight or accommodation changes, use the official channel or ask NIA/port staff how to correct your details.

Recognise the official service

NIA’s fraud warning specifically names its official web page for online arrival-card filling and says the service is free. It also names the NIA website, ‘移民局12367’, and the NIA WeChat and Alipay mini programs as official channels. Follow a link from the NIA notice rather than trusting an advertisement or a domain that merely includes the words “China arrival card.”

An unofficial paid website may ask for passport images and payment details. You do not need that service to use NIA’s official form. If you already entered information elsewhere, stop using that site and use the official NIA channel for the card itself.

If you did not fill it before flying

NIA says visitors can use smart devices at exit-entry ports or a paper card on arrival when they cannot submit online in advance. Follow the signs and immigration staff at your actual port. Leave enough time to complete the process; the form is only one part of entry inspection.

Whether a particular traveller must complete a card can depend on NIA’s current instructions and entry circumstances. This guide does not decide your visa or card eligibility. Read the live official notice and ask NIA or port staff if the form does not match your situation.

Keep your entry information consistent

Use the passport and itinerary details you will present at immigration. If a booking has changed, consult the official form or staff about an update. A confirmation from a third-party website is not evidence that your information reached the NIA system.

A quick check before you submit

Start from the NIA notice in the source list and follow its link to the form. Compare the visible domain with the official s.nia.gov.cn address before entering your passport number. Search ads and forwarded messages can use the same words as the government service, so the page title alone is not an identity check.

Keep the passport and itinerary you will use at entry beside you while filling the form. Review each field against those documents before submission. If a field or applicability notice does not fit your journey, do not guess to make the form accept it; use NIA’s 12367 service or ask at the entry port. The free online form is a preparation step, while immigration staff still handle entry inspection.

Rules change. Check the official National Immigration Administration page before you travel.
